Trees. Green space. Elbow room. Those are key reasons people choose to live in the suburbs, and the developers of The Oaks in north suburban Vernon Hills understand that.
“Unlike many of the new communities being built which have much higher density on smaller sites, The Oaks site is almost 30 acres,” said Matt Nix, principal of Chicago-based REVA Development Partners, which is building the project. Because of the property’s landscaping and proximity to a dedicated preservation area, “it feels very welcoming and peaceful, which is what many people want when they live in a suburban home,” he said.
